Honors Carolina Global Honors Programs

A diverse catalog of global programs open to all students with a sophomore status or above and a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Students applying to Honors Carolina global programs may also apply for scholarships based on demonstrated financial need and academic merit.

The Centre for Jerusalem Studies (CJS) Learn Arabic in Jerusalem

The Centre for Jerusalem Studies (CJS) Learn Arabic in Jerusalem Program is offering an intensive summer program for students who have completed one year of formal instruction in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).* This program is designed to provide accelerated instruction in MSA, enabling students to build their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, while gaining mastery of increasingly complex grammatical structures.

Duke Middle East in Europe

This four-week, one-credit program, examines and rethinks the relations between Europe and the Middle East (ME). Within an interdisciplinary and interregional framework that includes policy and popular culture, the program excavates the political and cultural legacies of Europe in the ME as well as the ME in Europe. The goal of the program is to create an undergraduate learning community around historical and current geopolitical issues that address the plight of Muslims in and on the periphery of Europe, particularly Turks in Germany and Syrian refugees in Türkiye.

UNC Economics in Croatia

This summer faculty led program is designed for students of Economics. Students will take two courses at the University of Split; one course will be taught by a UNC faculty, Dr. Michelle Sheran-Andrews, and the other course will be taught by a University of Split professor, Dr. Blanka Šimundić. Students will spend 6 weeks in the beautiful city of Split and have the chance to visit a number of surrounding areas on day trips.

UNC Exploring Economies in Scandinavia

Take a UNC economics course abroad for a chance to explore and experience Stockholm’s history and culture through an economic lens. This program is an excellent match for students in fields such as political science, business, sociology, women’s and gender studies, health policy and management, public policy, or anyone who has taken ECON 101 and wants to apply those theories in an international context.

King’s College London Exchange Program

King’s is one of the oldest universities in England, and it’s also one of the largest, with a student population over 23,000. King’s is an urban campus, meaning instead of a contained campus, university buildings are located in the heart of the city and housing is scattered throughout the city. King’s is also one of the UK’s most distinguished universities, with an outstanding reputation for learning, teaching, and research, specifically in the fields of Humanities and Sciences.

SRAS and Novamova- Continuing Education Abroad: Georgia and Ukraine

SRAS and Novamova would like to invite all educators for an unforgettable continuing education experience. Specially formulated to immerse you directly in the subjects and regions you teach, this program will present the culture, history, politics, and current events of Ukraine and Georgia from the perspectives of locals on the ground. Student interest is rising in these fascinating, little-understood, but increasingly important geopolitical centers.

The Class of 1938 Fellowship Program

The UNC-Chapel Hill Alumni Class of 1938 annually awards summer study abroad fellowships to U.S. students interested in pursuing independent career or personal projects outside the United States.

Phillips Ambassadors

The Phillips Ambassadors scholarship offers undergraduates at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University a unique opportunity to study abroad in Asia. The Phillips Ambassadors Program is open to UNC Chapel Hill and select Duke University undergraduate students across all majors who are applying for a university-approved study abroad academic program in Asia (excluding Central Asia).
