Leadership Positions Available at UNC Institute of Politics

January 18 - May 10

The UNC Institute of Politics is currently accepting new members!

The IOP is a nonpartisan student organization that aims to engage and inspire undergraduates to pursue careers in politics and public service. Students can get involved in any of the Institute’s three programs:

Carolina Political Review

The Carolina Political Review is a publication dedicated to serving the Carolina community by connecting UNC-Chapel Hill to local, statewide, national, and global political issues. The CPR is the editorial arm of the Institute of Politics, and as such a nonpartisan publication. Nonpartisan in this sense does not mean the content contained within will be without opinions; in fact, by nonpartisan we seek to present many sides of arguments, along with objective reports on wide-ranging topics.

Civic Engagement Action Coalition

The Civic Engagement Action Coalition’s (CEAC) mission is to build an unprecedented coalition on campus of multiple identity, cause-oriented, and interest groups to increase student involvement and awareness in the civic process. Building upon the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s reputation as a politically driven campus, CEAC seeks to not only promote civic engagement, but furthermore unite campus resources and efforts to create a culture of voter participation at Carolina and set an example for institutions across the state of North Carolina for how to mobilize and develop a voter-conscious campus.

Speaker Series

The Speaker Series aims to attract high-caliber, experienced, and knowledgeable individuals with a substantial background in the field of politics and public service to the campus of UNC Chapel Hill to engage in substantive conversations with students, faculty, and other members of the University community. From large-scale lectures to small workshops, or intimate dinners to crowded receptions, the Speaker Series tailors each of its events to best fit the character of the conversation.

To join the IOP, please fill out this interest form.

In addition, the UNC Institute of Politics is currently seeking to fill its Director of Communications position. Their primary role consists of the institute’s external communications, primarily through social media and the IOP newsletter. Apply here.
