The Arab SpringSix experts on democratization and the Arab world participated in a panel discussion on the Arab Spring on November 18, 2012. The event explored the causes, the controversies, and the hopes for democratization of this movement. |

Heels in the FieldA Global Health Discussion Series The series built on its success from the previous semester with speakers discussing global maternal and childhealthcare, HIV/AIDS preventions and interventions, and injury preventions in this brown bag lunch-time program. |

Mau a Malawi: Story of AIDSA performance and discussion on the story behind the concept album Mau a Malawi Mau a Malawi was created to explore the realities of living, and dying, from AIDS in the African country of Malawi, which suffers from one of the highest AIDS rates in the world. The artists performed their music and then engaged in a critical discussion on their project with the Carolina community. |

VimyPeter McMillan and Lang Kidby undertook the challenge of rebuilding the famous Vickers Vimy, which changed the course of air history, and recreating the plane’s flights. Following the screening of a movie that documents this endeavour, McMillan discussed with the audience his experience of this historic moment. |
