Abdel-Baste Athamneh, “Gender Differences in Unemployment and Poverty at Palestinian Refugee Camps in Jordan

Female refugees at Palestinian camps in Jordan have limited opportunities for education, training and employment. This study, based on a survey of 674 families at the four refugee camps for Palestinians in Jordan, examines the difference between female-headed and male-headed households on a series of economic indicators, including unemployment and poverty rates. Presentation: Beyond Borders: Environmental Cooperation in Israel

Foreign language and Areas Studies Fellowship

We are offering three info sessions in the GEC open to any interested student – grad or undergrad. These sessions are joint efforts of all the area studies Centers so not limited to one region or language. The final deadline for FLAS apps is January 31, 2018.; however, we are trying to publicize early to get a good applicant pool and also answer questions for people who may be interested.
