The International Affairs Council of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that fulfills its mission by planning itineraries for visiting international dignitaries and professionals and by hosting a series of public events that bring seasoned, high profile speakers to the Triangle community. IACNC is now offering unpaid internships for the upcoming summer session 2013. Students should have interest in international affairs and willing to work at least twelve hours a week.

INTERNSHIP OPENING

Duties include:

  • Prepare programs (contact local resources to arrange professional meetings with International Visitors, finalizing programs and welcome packets)
  • Write stories for newsletters, web site, e-marketing tools, and other promotional materials;
  • Administrative support, such as: answering phones, helping with mailings, welcoming Visitors, filing programs
  • Research professional resources and current cultural events in Research Triangle Area
  • Update database
  • Help with proposals for upcoming programs
  • Meet with International Visitors whenever possible (great opportunity to network with North Carolina professionals)
  • Help design and plan for IACNC socials and community events
