Texas A&M University’s MSC Student Conference on National Affairs (MSC SCONA)

February 13, 2018 - February 17, 2018

MSC SCONA is an annual collegiate conference that brings together delegates from across the nation and the world. Each year, MSC SCONA discusses a topic of national and global importance, giving delegates the chance to interact with the nation’s premier academic scholars, industry professionals, and well-known public figures. Delegates participate in small group “roundtables” led by a subject matter expert “facilitator”, and work together to create a policy paper. Additionally, prestigious keynote speakers attend our conference. This past year, we had an opportunity to hear from the Director of the NSA, Admiral Mike Rogers, the Director of the Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratories, Dr. Charles McMillian, and the Marine Corps Commandant, General Robert Neller.

Our topic for our 63rd Annual Conference is “New World Disorder: Reconsidering America’s Roles, Relationships, & Responsibilities”. In this year’s conference, we are hoping to discuss America’s involvement in situations both foreign and domestic with the numerous events which are transpiring around us. Covering topics such as immigration, cyber security, and tensions and conflicts which have escalated from Syria to the Korean Peninsula, MSC SCONA is hosting a diverse set of topics which can appeal to those of all interests.

If you would like further information on MSC SCONA, the website is tamu.edu. Nathaniel Armendariz would be more than happy to answer any questions via email or phone at (915) 587-7278. We look forward to hearing from you!
