Research Talk + Q&A- Global Studies Alumna Kate Hewitt (MA ’17)

Global Studies alumna Kate Hewitt (MA ’17) will be on campus Tuesday, February 12th at 2:30pm in GEC 4003 to present some of her ongoing work & research at the Brookings Institution in the Arms Control and Non-Proliferation Initiative on issues related to the Iran nuclear deal, North Korea’s nuclear program, and strategies for reducing incentives for countries to obtain/pursue nuclear weapons. Kate has published work in 38 North, a project of The US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) devoted to informed analysis of North Korea, and received the 2018 Leonard M. Rieser Award from the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.


Apart from her work & research, Kate will also be available to answer questions from Global Studies students related to networking, general research skills, and preparation for post-graduate opportunities from her experiences as a Peace Corps volunteer and a Scoville Peace Fellow.
