Race: The Power of An Illusion – The House We Live In  film segment viewing and discussion

6:00 pm|Auditorium, Stone Center
Tickets: Free and open to the public

The Kappa Omicron Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will hold a film viewing and discussion that looks at how the U.S. Government promoted segregation in housing which influenced wealth disparities that have continued through today’s generation. The program will highlight a segment from the PBS documentary, Race: The Power of an Illusion, Episode 3, The House We Live in. After the viewing, the audience will be led in a conversation by a UNC historian and a representative from Point Made Films, a boutique documentary film company which has created many of its own films that help define American culture. The idea is to look at ways people who will become homeowners in the future can change the past.
