Peace Corps & Public Health Networking Event

March 28, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Launch your health related career with the Peace Corps.  Current UNC undergraduate students are invited to chat with Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCV’s) about their diverse experiences in health related fields all around the world and how it prepared them for graduate school and a variety of careers.  Students will also have the opportunity to connect with other returned Volunteers (current Gillings School students and alumni) including former Peace Corps Director Aaron Williams.  Mr. Williams is currently the executive vice president for government relations and corporate communications at RTI International, in Research Triangle Park.  His long and distinguished career in public service and the private sector began with three years of service as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic. He also served as a senior official at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where he reached the rank of career minister in the Senior Foreign Service.

Students will also have the opportunity to learn about public health graduate degrees and receive information about the Peace Corps application process.  This event will be held in the Gillings School Atrium in an informal setting for students to chat with RPCV’s from many international regions.  Light refreshments will be provided
