New Scholarship in British Art History: Discoveries at the North Carolina Museum of Art

This is a two-day new scholars conference on January 27 and 28, sponsored by the Art Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Museum of Art, hosted alongside the upcoming exhibition “History and Mystery: Discoveries in the NCMA British Collection” that explores how innovative scholarship and new narratives can help expand the larger discipline of British studies. The keynote address will be delivered by Edward Town, a postdoctoral research associate at the Yale Center for British Art.

This symposium is proudly sponsored by the Art Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Institute for Arts and Humanities, the Center for Global Studies at the UNC-Chapel Hill and the Bastian Family Charitable Trust.
