New Central Asia Working Group

Please join us for dinner on December 1 from 5:30-7 PM for the first meeting of the Central Asia Working Group! This new Working Group is a forum for UNC undergraduates, graduate students, visiting scholars and faculty interested in the region to exchange ideas and foster an intellectual community devoted to the study of Central Asian societies. The group seeks to build on existing strengths on campus in research, teaching, and outreach concerning Central Asia, Russia, China, and the former Soviet Union.
The faculty conveners are Erica Johnson (Global Studies) and Eren Tasar (History). The Central Asia Working Group is sponsored by the Center for Global Initiatives and the Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies.
