Danielle Preiss is an independent journalist who has been working in and on Nepal for most of the last decade with organizations including The Kathmandu Post, the Mountain Institute, and Her Turn (a nonprofit focused on girls’ and women’s health, education, and empowerment). Her reports have appeared in media outlets including The Atlantic, The Guardian, Vice.com, Himal Southasian, and WXXI News. Her lecture will focus on sex trafficking and girls’ lives and rights in Nepal.

The talk will be followed by a reception with tasty food and the opportunity to discuss the current situation in Nepal six months after the Great Earthquake with the speaker and Professor Lauren Leve from the Department of Religious Studies.
