Lecture by Mohsen Kadivar

The Carolina Center for the Study of the Middle East and Muslim Civilizations invites you to attend a five-part lecture series on Gulshan-i Rāz (The Rose Garden of the Secret)featuring commentary by Mohsen Kadivar.  Gulshan-i rāz is the most eminent poetic work of renowned 14th century Persian Sufi poet and gnostic, Mahmoūd Shabestarī, one of the most prominent scholars of the Islamic mysticism.  His poetry concisely sheds light on a broad range of topics in Islamic mystical thought.

 Please note that this event is in Persian and open to all who speak Persian or love Persian mystical literature.  Kadivar is an Iranian philosopher and research professor of Islamic studies at Duke University. For more information, please contact Sam Aghamiri.
