UNC Asian American Students Association is proud to present Journey Into Asia 2021: RESILIENCE. JIA 2021 will be premiering on Saturday, March 27th at 7:00PM EST on our YouTube channel for free. We hope to see you all there!
Since 1993, the goal of JIA has been to celebrate and showcase the Asian American community and a variety of incredibly diverse cultures from within it. The theme for JIA 2021 aimed to reflect our decision to carry on this tradition and continue celebrating our community, even if that celebration may look different. However, we were also hoping that JIA 2021 will showcase the resilience of our community. Despite the pandemic, a 1900% increase in anti-Asian crimes, and continuously having to adjust our lives, we are still able to create, perform, and (virtually) come together as people.
