Information Session: The Class of 1938 Fellowship Program
November 15, 2016 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Fellowships of $5000 each are awarded.
The UNC-Chapel Hill Alumni Class of 1938 annually awards summer study abroad fellowships to U.S. students interested in pursuing independent career or personal projects outside the United States. This is a unique scholarship program because it provides financial assistance to students who could not perform independent projects abroad without the support of the Class of 1938 funding. Fellowships of $5000 each are awarded. The number and amount of the fellowships are subject to approval by the 1938 Endowment Committee board members.
Currently enrolled UNC-Chapel Hill sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply. Seniors who will be taking a fifth year of coursework are also eligible to apply. All applicants must be U.S. citizens. Permanent Residents are not eligible. All applicants must be enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the Spring and Fall of 2017. All applicants are requested to meet with the Endowment Committee at the annual meeting in the Spring of 2018 held at UNC-Chapel Hill to give a brief verbal report of the previous summer’s activities.
Application deadline: January 31 2017
