The 2016 Global Immersion program in China will run from May 9 to May 21, and will visit media outlets in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. This three-credit class is open to all JOMC majors in all specializations and can be used for immersion or elective credit. Any students with questions should attend the info session or contact assistant professor Adam Saffer.

The Rio Olympics internship will run from July 31, to Aug. 22. Students will earn three hours of JOMC credit for this internship. The estimated total cost of the program is around $4,300. This cost includes all tuition and fees, health/travel insurance for the program and all travel costs. Rio 2016 is providing accommodation in the Olympic Village and meals while working. This program is being organized in partnership with the UNC Study Abroad Office. Students graduating in May or August 2016 cannot take part in the program. Any current seniors who want to participate in the program will need to move their graduation date to December 2016. Any students with questions should attend the info session or contact professor Charlie Tuggle.

The application deadline for both programs is Jan. 22. The information session for both programs will be on Thursday, Jan. 14. The China program will be discussed at 3 p.m. and the Rio Olympics program will be discussed at 4 p.m. Both will take place in the Freedom Forum Conference Center on the third floor of Carroll Hall.
