Global Cinema Studies Screening: “Étranger de l’Intérieur” (Serbia and Montenegro 2014)

Sonja Bertucci is a Los Angeles–based filmmaker and scholar. She holds an MFA from California Institute of the Arts, as well as a PhD in French and Film Studies from UC Berkeley. Originally from France, she has taught at numerous institutions of higher learning in the United States, including UC Berkeley, Duke University, Miami University, and Concordia College). At Berkeley, her dissertation focused on intermediality in the works of Proust and Godard. Her creative work embodies a poetic-experimental approach to documentary filmmaking. Her first feature-length documentary, Stranger from Within, is a personal and political film about Serbian culture in Kosovo.
