“Borders, Boundaries, and Bandwidth: Confronting Hybrid Warfare and Illiberal Politics in an Age of Extremism”
November 7, 2014 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
This talk examines transatlantic cooperation from three perspectives—borders, boundaries, and bandwidth. First, borders refers to changes in geopolitics and efforts to redraw the post-Cold War European map through force and irregular means. Second, boundaries refers to democratic governance and how the changing social contract between government and citizens is shaping identity politics. Third, bandwidth refers to the capacity to manage multiple crises simultaneously. The talk concludes with implications for the United States and Europe over the longer term.
