Anthony Quainton, ‘Terrorism and the Challenge for Diplomacy’

20160222_Anthony-Quainton-300x250Anthony Quainton has served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Central African Republic, Nicaragua, Kuwait and Peru. Quainton also served as the director for the State Department’s Office for Combating Terrorism and assistant Secretary of State for Diplomatic Security. President Clinton appointed Quainton as the director general of the Foreign Service in 1997. Since 2003, Quainton has been the distinguished diplomat-in-residence at the School of International Service at American University.

Quainton’s lecture is one in a series of lectures for the Trans-Atlantic Forum for Education and Diplomacy (TFED). For further information, contact Ted Leinbaugh. Leinbaugh is a professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literature and in the Peace, War and Defense Curriculum at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
