North Carolina voters will have the opportunity on March 15, 2016, to vote on a number of federal, state and local races and issues. This year, the primary election day falls during UNC-Chapel Hill’s spring break. If you plan to be away from your local polling site on March 15, you are encouraged to take advantage of early voting opportunities.
Early voting for the 2016 primary election begins on Thursday, March 3, and runs through Saturday, March 12.
For registered Orange County voters, or those eligible to use same-day registration at an Orange County early voting site, the closest early voting location to campus is Chapel of the Cross, 304 East Franklin Street (next to Morehead Planetarium). It is open the following days and times:
- Thursday & Friday, March 3 & 4, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Saturday, March 5, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Monday – Friday, March 7 – March 11, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Saturday, March 12, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
