On January 3, 2020, the United States military assassinated the leader of Iran’s Quds Force, General Qasem Soleimani. What do the United States, Iran, and the Middle East region gain and lose by the death of Gen. Soleimani? How will this impact US-Iran relations? Join us for a presentation by and Q&A with Charles Kurzman, professor of sociology and co-director of the Center for Middle East and Islamic Studies at UNC. Prof. Kurzman is the author of The Missing Martyrs: Why Are There So Few Muslim Terrorists? (2019) and The Unthinkable Revolution in Iran (2004)
